"We are in talks with Bharatiya Vidya Peetha, Pune, a reputed educational institute which runs a chain of colleges including medical college and also private medical college in Bangalore", Influx Group, CMD Shivaaji Chamkire told a group of visiting newspersons from Bangalore.

He, however, refused to name the medical college with which his group was in negotiations in Bangalore, but said it wanted to establish the new colleges by next year.

Influx group of companies, comprising six firms including a retail arm, has recorded a turnover of Rs 200 crore during 2007-08, he said.

The company has set a target of Rs 500 crore in 2008-08 and Rs 1,000 crore mark by 2010, Chamkire said.

Influx Infotech which has been running 130 computers learning centres, would be increasing the numbers shortly he said, but declined to elaborate.

Infotech Influx which made its foray into the market through the retailing business has presence in 22 states across the country and built up a strong customer base.

Chamkire firmly ruled out the group venturing into manufacturing sector, asserting that "we do not have such plans. We want to expand our retail business. Looking for more franchisees in Karantaka, particularly, Bangalore".
