Pune-based supermarket chain Influx Mart plans to enter Rajasthan in a big way. The company, which opened its first mart in Rajasthan, plans to open more such marts in other parts of the state. |
"We are planning to open a series of outlets in Rajasthan", Shivaji Chamkire, head of the company, said. He said the company plans to have around five marts in Jaipur alone and our plan is to have one mart in each of the districts of Rajasthan. |
He said the group has its presence now in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka. "So far 25 Influx marts have been opened in various cities of the country and the company is set to open 200 plus marts by this year-end," he said. |
Influx Marts were recently opened in Surat, Tarapur, Pune, Hubli and Amravati. Soon we will be reaching the biggest customer base up to Tehsil level as we intend to open new Marts across the country, he added. |
He said on an average around Rs 40 lakh investment is required on opening of a mart. Influx Marts, which offers around 5,000 products at its super markets, offers discounts on each item, claimed Chamkire. |
"Soon we will add more products," he added. "Today, the retail sector in India is changing in a big way and new era of organised retailing is emerging fast. Along with the changing market scenario, needs and expectations of consumers are also changing," he said. |
