Infosys BPO has denied the charges made by its New York-based client The Buying Triangle (TBT) "" a spend management services firm "" of "deficient" services.

It was reported in a section of the media that TBT had filed a suit in June in a New York court against Infosys BPO. The company had sought damages in excess of $6,00,000 (around Rs 24 crore) citing deficient service and loss of intellectual property. In turn, Infosys BPO, in its countersuit, has termed the allegation as false and has sought damages.

A spokesperson for Infosys said the company does not comment on pending litigation and as a result would not respond in detail to the complaint's various allegations. "However, Infosys BPO denies the allegations and intends to vigorously defend itself against these meritless claims," the spokesperson added.

In a statement, Infosys BPO noted it had filed its own claims against TBT, and moved to dismiss the suit. "Further, protecting our client's data and intellectual property is central to Infosys BPO's corporate values, ethics and relationship with TBT is no exception. Specifically, Infosys BPO states that it has already returned to TBT its client and proprietary information," the statement said.

Infosys BPO also said that Infosys Technologies has not been named as a party to this lawsuit and is therefore not involved in the matter.
