Infosys Foundation grants Rs 5 cr for research on infectious diseases

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of software major Infosys, has signed a pact with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore to offer a grant worth Rs 5 crore to strengthen research on infectious diseases.

The objective of the memorandum understanding (MoU) is to enhance infrastructure and broaden research activities at the Centre for Infectious Diseases Research (CIDR) at IISc, said the Foundation in a statement. "The grant of INR 5 crore will be used towards research, training and creating awareness about infectious diseases, benefiting 25 faculty members and 250 students at IISc."
