Infotech Enterprises, a provider of geospatial and engineering design services, has announced the inauguration of its US geospatial production facility at Frostburg, Maryland.

Managed by Infotech's American subsidiary, VARGIS, the new facility grew out of collaboration with Frostburg State University, Allegany County and the State of Maryland, a press release said.

A number of projects are already under execution in the Frostburg facility and production will continue to scale up over the next several months as the company begins to service recently-awarded government mapping contracts.

B V R Mohan Reddy, Infotech's chairman and chief executive officer, said, "The new facility puts Infotech in the unique position of having both onshore and offshore mapping production capability and offers our clients more choices in terms of project execution, particularly with respect to export-controlled contracts."
