Ingersoll Rand, Jindal Steel & Nahar Q3 results

Ingersoll Rand net up 18% to Rs 8.74 cr
 
The Bangalore-based Ingersoll-Rand (India) posted 17.94 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 8.74 crore for the third quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 7.41 crore for the corresponding period of the last financial year.
 
Total income has gone up by 14.46 per cent at Rs 142.77 crore for the quarter as against Rs 124.73 crore last year, the company, manufacturing construction and mining equipment,.
 
Jindal Steel net up 2% to Rs 126 cr
 
Jindal Steel and Power reported 1.61 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 126 crore for the quarter ended December 2005, from Rs 124 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Net sales, however, dropped by 2.64 per cent to Rs 625 crore from Rs 642 crore last year. Total income during the quarter dropped 2 per cent at Rs 636 crore from Rs 649 crore in the same quarter in FY05. Gross sales was up 1.89 per cent to Rs 700 crore from Rs 687 crore.
 
The company's gross profit rose by 4.5 per cent to Rs 209 crore from Rs 200 crore. Operating profit was up by 7.62 per cent from Rs 223 crore to Rs 240 crore over the corresponding periods.
 
Nahar back in the black
 
Textile company Nahar Industrial Enterprises has recorded net profit of Rs 18.25 crore during the third quarter of the current financial year against loss of Rs 72.45 lakh during the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Net sales rose by 9.2 per cent at Rs 168.08 crore against Rs 153.84 crore in the year-ago period. Net profit was up 269.41 per cent at Rs 47.58 crore during the nine months ended December 2005 against Rs 12.88 crore during the same period of 2004-05. Net sales rose by 13.51 per cent at Rs 513.70 crore against Rs 452.57 crore.
