Inox Leisure today announced the opening of the first multiplex at Nariman Point, the commercial hub of Mumbai. The theatre will open to the public from November 12 with big releases lined up such as Veer-Zaara, Aitraaz, Naach, Mughal-e-Azam, Garfield and Shwaas. |
Shishir Baijal, CEO, Inox Leisure, said, "We are here to meet the demand for destination entertainment. This will be our flagship multiplex in Mumbai and the fifth in our chain." The theatre is housed in the Piramal-owned shopping mall Crossroads 2. |
This theatre marks the first phase of investment for the company worth Rs 150 crore which included setting up multiplexes at Pune, Baroda, Kolkata and Mumbai. |
In the second phase, it is investing an additional Rs 100 crore to set up multiplexes in Noida, Kochi, Allahabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Inox Panaji, the next theatre in the line will be inaugurated along with the International Film Festival of India which begins on November 29. |
Inox Mumbai has been developed at a cost of Rs 50 crore in an area of 25,000 sq feet with a parking space for over 500 cars, the state of the art technology and the best of infrastructural design. |
It has five screens with a seating capacity of 1,335 seats. The theatre boasts of an inhouse enterprise resource planning (ERP) software developed for managing the sales. Tickets are priced between Rs 100- 200 and can be brought over the counter, on phone and even via the Internet. |
The company plans to have specialised kiosks to sell tickets and also through SMS. Inox Leisure is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gujarat Flurochemicals Ltd. |
