Insitiuform Inc, Subhash bag Rs 95cr deal

City-based Subhash Projects & Marketing Limited (SPML) today said it has formed a joint venture company with US-based Insitiuform Inc which has received contract worth Rs 95 crore from the Delhi Jal Board.

"The JV Company has won two sewer rehabilitation contracts from Delhi Jal Board (DJB) worth Rs 95 Crore to rehabilitate a sewer system that serves a population of almost 14 million people. The estimated market of sewer rehabilitation in India is Rs 9,000 crore for the next five years ," SPML Vice Chairman Subhash Sethi told PTI. "The work is slated to begin from year 2009 and is to be completed within 24 months. This is in addition to the Rs 140 crore jobs already being executed by the JV company in West Delhi and Jail Road sewers for Delhi Jal Board," he said.

 

The two projects have been under execution for the last six months and is expected to be completed by early 2010.

The joint venture company, Insituform Pipeline Rehabilitation Private Limited contract involves the restoration of two trunk sewer lines-- 8.04 km valued at Rs 60.08 crore and 5.09 km valued at Rs. 35.72 crore using the cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) method. Combined, the new contracts involve rehabilitating 13,435 meters (13.43 Kilometre) of medium and large-diameter sewer lines with CIPP (cured in place pipe) and other trenchless and non-trenchless work. The joint venture company will combine the executional and marketing capabilities of Subhash Projects while Insituform will provide the technical expertise and supervision for the patented and globally acclaimed cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) technology.

SPML was also aiming to bag contract sewerage restoration contracts for Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Sethi said.
