Intel Price Cut Not To Impact Pc Prices

The cut in chip prices announced by Intel will not have an impact on mainstream personal computer prices in the country as the price cut is mainly on high-end microprocessors.

Intel has cut prices of Pentium 4 chip running at 2.4 gigahertz by 52 per cent to $193 from $400 in the lots of 1000. It has also cut prices on its Pentium 4 chips running at 2.26 gigahertz by 20 per cent. The company has also reduced the prices of Celeron processors at 1.8 gigahertz by 19 per cent and also cut prices of 1.3 gigahertz Celeron by 14 per cent. These high end chips has about five per cent market share in the Indian market.
