Invest Hong Kong to hold venture programme for Hyd startups

To enter the contest, startups have to submit an online application form and a two-minute video before July 31

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), a department of the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region set up to attract and assist overseas companies establish and expand their presence, in association with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) – Hyderabad Chapter, today announced ‘StartmeupHK Venture Programme’ for Hyderabad startups.

StartmeupHK is a global competition for high-impact, innovative and scalable startups, which aim to expand their businesses globally from Hong Kong. It offers them a one-stop platform to expand or set up their business in Hong Kong and gain access to financial, intellectual and social capital.

For the programme, entries are invited from across the globe in two categories- Category One for early to growth stage ventures with revenue and/or with a significant number of customers or users and Category Two for startups at prototype stage with no revenue and/or customers or users.
 

Startups have to submit an online application form and a two-minute video before July 31, 2014, in order to enter the programme. This will include an elevator pitch of the business, problem/opportunity, value proposition and innovation, business model, sources of funding, financial information, milestones to date, three-year development path, assets and liabilities.

InvestHK will select nine winners  from Category One and 3 from Category Two. The 12 shortlisted winners from the two categories will win prizes worth more than $500,000 including pro bono accounting, legal, design and branding advice and services, supported by sponsors including Baker Tilly, CoCoon, CWL Partners, Nest, Orangefield ICS, Paperclip Startup Campus and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
