Meanwhile, the Rs 400 crore project for motor spirit quality improvement to Euro-III grade is likely to be commissioned by June, 2006.
"Initially, the pipeline will be used for exporting naphtha. The same pipeline will be used for transporting diesel and kerosene. The pipeline will transport 2.6 mmtp of fuel per month," said K K Acharya, executive director, Gujarat Refinery. IOC pegs the investment for the pipeline at Rs 90.5 crore.
"We have already got most of the required clearances and the work will begin soon. We hope to complete the project by March 2006, which will transport all white-oil products," he added.
On the quality improvement project at Kayli, he said, "We have started production of Euro-III diesel from January this year and are supplying to Ahmedabad and other cities. The quality of diesel has also been upgraded from 2,500 ppm sulphur content to 500 ppm, which is of BIS-II quality."
