IOC is also laying a pipeline to transport liquefied petroleum gas from Panipat to Jalandhar and has plans for many more such pipelines, Jha said.  Until recently, LPG was transported mainly through rail and road to most of the bottling plants.  Transportation by pipeline is one-third the cost of movement by rail, Jha said.  Indian Oil shares ended at Rs 462.75 on National Stock Exchange today, down 3.7 per cent from Monday.
