The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to set up six more auto LPG dispensing stations in Andhra Pradesh within a short period of time. At present, IOC has four such stations in the state.

"We are looking at starting two stations , one each at Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, and one each at Hyderabad and Tirupati within a short time," I Koti Padmakar, general manager, IOC (Andhra Pradesh), said on the sidelines of a press conference held to introduce Indane Star Distributors system at Visakhapatnam.

"IOC, at present, sells around 100 metric tonnes of auto gas per month through these four stations," he added.

"IOC is also taking steps to increase its market share for its branded cooking gas " Indane, in the state. While Indane enjoys a market share of 33.8 per cent in the state, on a nation-wide basis, its market share is 48 per cent," Padmakar said.

"This apart, we are also planning to add another 160 distributors in the state to the existing 303 over the next two years. With this, we expect our customer base to increase from 32 lakh to 45 lakh over the next two years," he added.

To give better customer service, IOC recently introduced Indane Star Distributors system across the country. Based on their performance, 28 distributors in the state were upgraded to Star Distributors system.

"IOC's aim is to bring all the distributors under the Star Distributors network in a phased manner," Padmakar said.
