The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Maharatna national oil company and Chhattisgarh government Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expedite the work of Surat-Paradip natural gas pipeline in the state limit. State-owned Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) would be the executing agency for the project. The natural gas pipeline from Surat to Paradip in Odisha would cover some 500 kms in Chhattisgarh; covering four districts including Mahasamund, Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon.
Under the agreement signed, the survey work for the project would be completed within a year time. Accordingly, a master plan would be prepared to that would underline the utility value of gas for the local populace and the State Government.
The survey work for preparing the A project will be prepared for the usage of natural gas as fuel for industrial units.A Joint Coordination Team (JCT) would be formed for expediting and monitoring the progress of the project.
The team would comprise of four members. The state government would coordinate for the grant of all necessary permissions, approvals, clearances, statistics and other details available with various state agencies for the work.
