IOL Chemicals bags National Award for energy conservation

Ludhiana-based IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IOLCP), manufacturer of APIs, Ibuprofen and specialty chemicals has announced the company has once again won the National Energy Conservation Award 2010. The company has won the first prize in the Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Sector for its continued efforts towards new technology implementation.

With the winning of the National Energy Conservation Award 2010, IOLCP has won the award consecutively for six years. IOLCP has won the second prize of National Energy Conservation Award every year since 2005.

R K Thukral, executive director, IOLCP received the award from the power minister Sushilkumar Shinde, at a special felicitation ceremony held on December 14, the National Energy Conservation Day.

 

According to Thukral, “It is an honour for us that our sustained efforts towards energy conservation have been recognised through this award once again. This year, we have had considerable decline in energy consumption in our manufacturing units due to implementation of a number of energy conservation measures and ideas to increase the power-efficiency of our equipment and processes.”

The National Energy Conservation Awards are given every year by the Ministry of Power to the industrial units, office buildings, hotels and hospitals, zonal railways, state designated agencies, municipalities, and manufacturers of Bureau of Energy Efficiency star-labeled appliances, which have made commendable efforts in energy conservation in their respective fields.
