IPCL board asks Anil to stay back

The board of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation (IPCL) requested Anil D Ambani, vice-chairman of the company, to reconsider his resignation from the board.
 
IPCL has informed the stock exchanges that the board considered the resignation of Anil Ambani at its meeting today and "decided to request AD Ambani to reconsider (his decision)".
 
Anil Ambani, who has been fighting a bitter battle for control of the Rs 99,000-crore Reliance group with brother Mukesh Ambani, stepped down from IPCL on January 3.
 
Anil Ambani did not attend Thursday's IPCL board meeting in Mumbai. The board met to discuss the company's results as well as the resignation of Anil Ambani.
