The gas-starved Indian Petrochemical Corporation Ltd (IPCL) is planning to approach Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for an additional supply of natural gas, particularly for its Gandhar plant.
The company, which was recently taken over by Reliance Industries, faces a shortage of 1.2 million standard cubic metres per day (mmscmd) natural gas.
At present, GAIL India Ltd, the only supplier of gas to the company, supplies 8 mmscmd of gas to the company.
