Independent power producers contributed over Rs 33,000 crore to the BHEL's orderbook in the previous financial year, the state-run power equipment producer said today.
The orders received from independent power producers (IPPs) accounted for 14,689 MW, in financial terms the orders amount to Rs 33,787 crore, the company said in a statement.
Total orderbook of the company in the last financial year stood at Rs 59,031 crore with orders for equipment that can generate 16,489 MW of electricity. Ninety per cent of the orders came from the IPPs.
During the year, orders were received from ACC, Adhunik, Avantha, Hindalco, Indiabulls, Jaypee Group, Jindal Power, Sterlite, Tatas, Videocon among others.
BHEL manufactures equipment that can generate 15,000 MW of power and it plans to ramp up this capacity to 20,000 MW soon.
