Infosys Technologies has said that it will participate in the up-coming Bangalore IT.Com. |
In response to whether the company would join the list of companies that would boycott the event which is scheduled to be held between November 1-5, Nandan M Nilekani, president, CEO and managing director of Infosys Technologies, said, "We have worked very long and hard to build our brand and I do not think we should compromise on what. So we will do our usual participation in Bangalore IT.Com." |
Recently, some of the biggest names in the IT industry, including IBM, Sasken, SAP, Phillips among others, announced their decision to boycott the upcoming event. This was their protest against the state government's lacklustre response to address the infrastructure concerns in the city. |
According to Nilekani, "All of us are concerned about the slowdown in the pace of infrastructure development. This has happened especially when a lot of global companies have come here. We hope that the state will take note of this and improve the infrastructure." |
On NHAI's proposal to build a four-lane elevated road to Electronics City, Nilekani said that there has not been any significant progress because various important factors like toll, toll revenues, special purpose vehicle to be created for the purpose of shareholders contributing their money among others, is being looked into. |
"We have also met the ministry two weeks ago and we are evaluating all the important factors concerned with the elevated road," Nilekani added. |
