A Gartner presentation on global ICT (information, communication and telecom) trends shows that the global spending growth in the sector has declined dramatically to less than five per cent in 2001 from a robust growth of 35 per cent in 2000.
According to Bob Hayward, senior vice-president, Gartner Asia Pacific, spending on ICT has been flat globally.
