In the age of aggressive media cross-promotions, even competing broadcasting companies are collaborating. Talks between Star India and TV 18-CNBC are on to work together and benefit from Kaun Banega Crorepati II scheduled for launch on August 5.

If the deal is inked , the business channel will create an investment show around the KBC II winners. The idea is to offer investment advise to people who win the prize money.

CNBC is still chalking out the logistics and is undecided on the prize money cutoff limit for the guests. Sources say that it may not be worthwhile calling people who've won less than Rs 10 lakh.

Delhi, ahoy!

The buzz is that the Mumbai-based news channel Star News is moving to Delhi "" lock, stock and barrel.

Though the reason behind this move is not known, it is learnt that the channel has lost several editorial personnel to rival companies as many Delhi-based journalists wanted to return to the capital.

Two years ago, when the channel was launched, critics had questioned the logic of operating a general news channel out of Mumbai.

Double delivery?

Film director Karan Johar is set to play a cameo role in Sujoy Ghosh's forthcoming film "" Home Delivery. The film stars Vivek Oberoi, Mahima Chowdhury, Ayesha Takia and Boman Irani, and is all about a day in the life of a pizza delivery man.

Johar is not new to acting and played Shah Rukh Khan's friend in the 1995 Aditya Chopra's debut film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

In Ghosh's flick, however, he will play himself. In one of the scenes, the hero wants to meet Johar the director. We hear that Johar really loves to be in front of the camera and wanted to remain in the media spotlight after Koffee with Karan was taken off air.

Or it could be a way of exorcising the ghosts of his flop film Kaal.
