Italian cosmetics brand expanding in UP

Company targetting a total of 100 counters by March 2015 across North India

Italian natural cosmetic and wellness brand Bottega Di Lungavita (BDL) has planned to expand in the major cities of Uttar Pradesh.

The brand launched its maiden exclusive store in Lucknow today and now has Bareilly, Agra and Kanpur on its radar.

"We want to open 7-8 stores and shop-in-shop formats in UP in coming months," company's managing director Arjun Khurana said here.

The company intends to open neighbourhood stores in tier II and III cities. For strict quality control, all BDL products are imported for sale in India, he informed.

"Now, we are present in over a dozen cities with 64 counters, including four exclusive stores in Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Aizawl (Mizoram) with another planned in Ludhiana," he said.

 

The company is targetting a total of 100 counters by March 2015 across North India. "In the next phase, we would open stores in the western and southern parts of India," Khurana added.

Headquartered in Bergamao, Italy, BDL is owned by Officina Farmaceutical Italiana. It is also a major supplier of products in private labels to key player such as Shahnaz Hussain, Elder, Wockhardt etc in India.

Meanwhile, the company has launched 180 products in India spanning women and men segments.

"We are targetting a turnover of Rs 6 crore in the current fiscal. The company is bullish on sales through online transactions," he underscored.
