Italian furniture brand Friuli makes debut

Ikian Furnitures today announced the launch of high-end Italian furniture brand 'Friuli', which comprises 11 sub brands of niche furniture products.
 
Bangalore-based Ikian Furnitures has been appointed the exclusive marketing partner for Friuli in India. The sub brands under Friuli include C&C Constantini, Delfabro, Goru Cucine, Julia Arredamenti, Maronese, Presotto, Tonon and Valentine.
 
Friuli's product range extends from modular kitchens, wardrobes, living units, sofas, chairs, beds and dining furniture to lounging options, lightings and other lifestyle accessories.
 
"All Friuli brand furniture will be sourced from Italy. The brand will cross $5 million by 2007 end," Ikian Furnitures CEO Ramesh Kumar Dugar said.
 
He pointed out that a study conducted by the European Furniture Market Research Institute estimated the Indian furniture market at Rs 30,000 crore.
 
"The growth potential is phenomenal. We are targeting all categories of customers. Bangalore being the centre of IT industry, we look for more business from the city. We have already bagged orders from a few IT firms," he added.
 
The first exclusive showroom for Friuli has been set up in the city. The brand will also be available through Ikian showrooms in Chennai and Mumbai.
 
"We intend to expand retail initiatives nationwide, including metropolitan cities," he stated. By 2008, the firm will have 10 showrooms covering cities like Ahmedabad, Kochi, Goa and Hyderabad.
 
Dugar said Friuli has plans to collaborate with high profile architects and interior designers to serve clients across the country.
