J&K Cements posts Rs 50 cr revenue till Nov this fiscal

Jammu and Kashmir Cements Limited today said it has earned a revenue of over Rs 50 crore during the current fiscal till November.

"Till ending November, the production of the factory was 87,858 metric tonnes while the sale of the cement was 84,425 metric tonnes, generating a revenue of over Rs 50 crore," Managing Director of the company Mushtaq Ahmad Malik said.

Briefing the State Industries minister S S Salathia during his visit to the Khrew Cement Plant in Pulwama district yesterday, Malik said with the operationalisation of another plant at the cost of Rs 87.50 crore in 2006, the production of the factory has doubled.

 

He said the factory has also invested Rs 28 lakh on the construction of various infrastructures for providing basic facilities to the local population.

Over 10,000 employees either directly or indirectly are working in the factory among which 750 are permanent employees.

He said there is a tremendous demand for quality cement in the market.
