Tyre major JK Industries Ltd is planning to add 40 dealers in Maharashtra by the end of 2007-08. The company has projected a 16.66 per cent rise in the revenue at Rs 3,500 crore for the year ending September 2007. |
Speaking to Business Standard, a senior JK Industries official said, "Currently, the company has 5,000 dealers across the country, including 700 in Maharashtra. With an aim to strengthen the sales network of the company in the state, we are adding 40 dealers throughout Maharashtra by the end of the fiscal 2007-08." |
The company's sales turnover in 2005-06 was Rs 3,000 crore. It has set a sales target of Rs 3,500 crore for the current fiscal ending September 2007, he added. |
JK Tyre is the largest exporter of tyres from India, exporting to 60 countries across six continents. It is eyeing an export of Rs 600 crore during the year ending September 2007. |
The company, which owns the JK and Vikrant brands, has access to state-of-the-art technology with support from its technology collaborators- Continental AG of Germany and General Tyres of USA. JK Industries has three manufacturing facilities- one each in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. |
