Jagran net profit at Rs 18 crore
 
Jagran Prakashan, publishers of Dainik Jagran, has recorded a net profit of Rs 17.70 crore, up 143.80 per cent, for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with Rs 7.26 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter of previous financial year.
 
The company posted net revenues of Rs 163.45 crore, increase of 29.79 per cent. According to the company, better advertising and circulation revenues from the publishing business led to the increased revenues in this quarter.
 
Kilburn Engineering net at Rs 1.25 cr
 
Kilburn Engineering has recorded a total income of Rs 14.09 crore in the third quarter, growth of 179 per cent. Profit-before"�tax increased to Rs 2.22 crore from Rs 44 lakh. Net profit increased to Rs 1.25 crore from Rs 40.84 lakh.
 
Madras Cements net shoots up six-fold
 
Madras Cements has posted over six-fold (610 per cent) growth in its net profit at Rs 68.12 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, against Rs 9.59 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous financial year.
 
Operating profit of the company grew by 201 per cent at Rs 129.47 crore compared with Rs 42.94 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
