Jain Irrigation Systems today said that it has bagged a Rs 168.3-crore order from Neeravari Nigam, a division of the Karnataka water department.

"Karnataka's Neeravari Nigam has selected Jain Irrigation Systems for the prestigious Shiggaon Micro Irrigation project through national competitive bidding," the company said in a statement.

The total cost of the project is around Rs 168.3 crore, the statement said.

The integrated micro-irrigation project involves survey, design, planning, supply and execution of irrigation facilities across about 10,000 hectares of land through a network of canals and pipelines, it added.

The company would maintain the entire project for two years after commissioning it in 2012, besides providing training to farmers for running it.
