Jain Irrigation today reported a net profit of Rs 42.56 crore during the the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
The irrigation systems provider had a net profit of Rs 24.50 crore in the September quarter of last fiscal, Jain Irrigation said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income rose to Rs 562.77 crore during the July- September quarter of the current fiscal, from Rs 475.99 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
During the current fiscal the company is providing tax on quarterly basis, as against the earlier practice of providing the same at the end of the year. Hence the results of the quarter are not comparable, it said.
Shares of Jain Irrigation were trading at Rs 776.20, down 0.22 per cent over its previous close on the BSE.
