Irrigation products maker Jain Irrigation today said it has posted a net profit of Rs 57.36 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2009, while the same was Rs 55.64 crore during the year-ago period.
"The company has made quarterly tax provision as against the earlier practice of providing the same at the year end, hence the results are not strictly comparable," Jalgaon-based Jain Irrigation said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income of the company stood at Rs 641.03 crore in the October-December quarter of current financial year, while it was Rs 537.69 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.
