McDonald's' Jalandhar outlet has topped sales among its 85 joints in the country.

McDonald's in Jalandhar, located on the national highway around 7 km from the city, has been recording highest sales since February. It is closely followed by MGF at Gurgaon and Ansals at Ludhiana, in terms of sales.

According to a McDonald's India spokesman, its Jalandhar fast food joint has been more or less showing good performance ever since it started in December 2004. Sales, reportedly, dipped at a point but since February this year, it has been a clear front-runner.

Of the total 85 McDonald's outlets, 55 are in the northern region and 30 are in the southern part of the country.

"Though most of our joints are doing brisk business, our Jalandhar outlet has certainly taken the lead in sales," the spokesman from McDonald's said.

Hygiene and cleanliness, and being able to serve the right kind of food for customers are key points in its success.
