Jarvinia eyeing partners for agri firm Hishtil

Company expected to set up green house nurseries across country to supply to customers in region

Jarvinia, a Cyprus-based India-specific investment firm, is scouting for greenhouse partners for Hishtil, an Israel-based global nursery corporation, for operations in India.

Hishtil specialises in production and sale of vegetables, herbs, seedlings and young plants for the professional and hobby markets, and the company plans to start greenhouse projects in various parts of the country in collaboration with local partners, according to an official from Jarvinia.

“We are working with Hishtil to find out a good partner for them in India,” said CA Rashmi Parekh, director, Jarvinia Project Management Pvt Ltd. However, he added it had not yet finalised the partnership.
 

Greenhouses are a better option for cultivation of various vegetables throughout the year, regardless of their natural season, and this would ensure supply of vegetables to customers at proper time.

“It is a technology which will help the Indian agricultural sector. There is a huge potential for this business in India,” he said.

Hishtil has positioned itself as a leader in the world for modern nurseries by developing unique technologies, production protocols and innovative production methods for sustainable, earth-friendly nursery operation.

Its international operations include-establishment of a global nursery network, consulting and upgrading services for existing nurseries and sale of professional know-how to customers around the world.

The company is also developing unique technologies and production protocols in order to keep up with the changing market demands. It has established a global nurseries network comprising five sites in Israel and six joint venture nurseries in Turkey, Italy, South Africa, Bulgaria, France and Bosnia.

Jarvinia has interests in real estate, telecom, hospitality and horticulture. It has invested in the Indian market through its realty arm Bhalakh.

Which has 212-acres of land near Chennai, for which it has tied-up with real estate developer Sheltrex to develop a township project.

Jarvinia has a major shareholding in India Blue Mountains, which is developing hotels in the country in partnership with Accor Hotel Group, which has hotels in Mumbai, Pune and Goa.

It also invested in Tower Vision, an independent tower management company specialising in the provision of passive infrastructure to the wireless communications industry in India.

All of Jarvinia's investments and operations are managed in India by Jarvinia Project Management Private Ltd.
