Jayashree Chemicals net up 36% to Rs 4.9 cr

S K Bangur Group company Jayashree Chemicals, manufacturers of caustic soda, chlorine and hydrochloric acid, has posted a 36 per cent rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31 to Rs 4.88 crore on the back of greater volumes.

Net sales for the quarter increased 19 per cent over the same period last fiscal to Rs 55.72 crore.

The company's Board has declared a dividend of Rs1.5 per share for the year ended March 31, 2009 compared to Rs1 per share last year.

Jayashree Chemicals has also entered into contract with Uhde India private limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Uhde Gmbh, a Thyssenkrupp Group company, for a 152 tonnes per day caustic soda plant with an investment of Rs 150 crore that will be funded through a mix of debt and equity. The company claimed that the debt component has already been tied up.
