JBoss plans tie-ups with 4 systems integrators

Eyes 10% of its global revenues from India

JBoss Inc, which provides resources, core development and support services to enable open source projects to scale into enterprise-class software, is looking at partnering with four system integrators (SIs) in India in the next six months.
 
Besides, it is also looking at getting around 10 per cent of its global revenues from India by 2007.
 
Speaking to Business Standard on the sidelines of a press conference on Monday, Brad Murdoch, director of JBoss India, said, "We are looking at tying up with four system integrators in India in the next six months. We are likely to announce the first tie-up in the next few days as we are in active dialogue with all the four companies." An SI builds and markets a solution using components from other companies.
 
According to Murdoch, India at present does not contribute significantly to JBoss' global revenues. "But by 2007, we expect India to contribute to 10 per cent of our global revenues," he added.
 
Murdoch is also vice-president of services at JBoss. The company employs 150 people worldwide with around four being in Bangalore in India. "We plan to double this number by the end of this year," he added.
 
Hyderabad-based SoftPro Systems Limited is the authorised service partner of JBoss in India. "India is absolutely critical for JBoss' development and we will continue to make investments here," Murdoch said.
 
JBoss earns its revenues entirely from services which include support, training and consulting. According to Murdoch, they get 15,000 inbound leads every month for support and consulting.
