Jerry Rao resigns from EDS

Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, Chairman, EDS Asia Pacific Advisory Board and founder of MphasiS has decided to resign from the Company. Rao, founder of MphasiS, was its Chairman and Managing Director from 2001 to 2006. He continued as non-executive Chairman of the Board till early 2008. He also led EDS’ operations in India as Vice President from 2006. Further to his resignation, he will pursue his personal interests. This decision by Rao to resign from EDS comes close on the heels of HP completing a $13 billion acquisition of EDS.
 
“Jerry Rao is a visionary and laid a strong foundation for the growth of MphasiS. He played a pivotal role in the integration of the EDS and MphasiS and has been instrumental in enabling clients leverage this combined strength. Jerry has decided to move on from the company to pursue his personal interests.” Said Michael Coomer, Chairman MphasiS & Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan Global Financial Services Industry EDS. ”We thank Jerry for his contributions and wish him the best of luck” he added.

I am looking forward to more time now to pursue my personal interests,” said Jerry Rao.

 

In addition to being on various Boards of companies including IDFC Private Equity, Royal Orchids Hotels, Lotus India AMC, Purvankara Projects, he is an Advisor to US-based venture capital firm NEA and is also an active angel investor in close to 20 companies.
