Jet Airways’ pilots have sent a notice to the management saying they would go on an indefinite strike from September 7.
The pilots are demanding the reinstatement of two colleagues — Sam Thomas and G Balaraman — who had been terminated.
“We have sent a notice to the management,” said Thomas. “Our only demand is reinstatement. The termination letter gave no reasons. We have the support of close to 700 pilots.”
An airline spokesperson, however, would not comment, saying they had no information on this.
Thw two were dismissed soon after joining the National Aviators Guild, a union of pilots which has been recently registered.
The pilots had earlier got together and given the management a week before they decided on their form of action. They had also appealed to the management to reinstate the staffers.
