Jet Airways launches no-frill economy service

In order to cater to the needs of the consumers opting for low fares, Jet Airways will launch 'Jet Airways Konnect', a new economy service from May 8 on select routes in the country.
 
Jet Airways Konnect will be a no-frill service with six dedicated aircrafts in sectors like Chennai-Coimbtore, Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Kochi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Bhopal, Mumbai-Udaipur, Bengaluru-Pune and Bengaluru-Mangalore circuit.
 
According to a statement issued to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said Jet Airways Konnect new economy service will offer a no-frill, economy class service where guests will be offered attractive and competitive low fare on specific routes.
 
Jet Airways will have dedicated aircraft for this service and the flight number range for this service will be unique so as to help the travellers and the travel agents identify the class of service. This means, the travellers will have to buy their meals on board while the on ground and in-flight services will be delivered by the Jet Airways staff.
 
Commenting on the launch of Jet Airways Konnect, Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officier said: "Consumer demands are changing rapidly in a dynamic global enviornment, we believe that Jet Airways Konnect service will give us the flexibility and speed to deploy capacity to meet these changing trends."
 
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 86 aircrafts and connects 63 destinations including some key cities abroad.
