Jet Airways yesterday announced the launch of its online booking facility, enabling passengers to book tickets to any of its destinations in India on the Internet. |
According to Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, chief executive officer, Jet Airways, passengers anywhere in the world can now book, pay and print their Jet Airways e-tickets online from any point globally. |
The service will be available for over 255 daily flights operated by the airline. However, flights originating from and to Srinagar, Khajuraho, Kochi and Colombo will not be covered by this facility. |
"We expect about 1 per cent of the 20,000 passengers that we carry daily to avail of this service, which could gradually go up by 4-5 per cent," Prock-Shauer said. According to him, the system is not expected to isolate travel agents. |
All online reservations are required to be made at least two hours prior to the departure of the flight. Gaurang Shetty, general manager (marketing), said a customer will have to call the airline for cancellation of a ticket as it has not been incorporated into the system. |
The airline had a load factor of 64 per cent (up by 2 per cent) last fiscal and carried 7 million passengers, a growth of 8 per cent compared to the last year. |
