Jet Airways has appointed its senior vice president (products and services) Jayraj Shanmugam as its new chief commercial officer.
The post of chief commercial officer was vacant for about a year following the resignation of Raj Sivakumar. The airline is yet to fill up the post of a full time of chief executive officer and its chief financial officer Amit Agarwal holds charge as acting CEO.
In other management changes the airline's senior vice president (sales and marketing) Colin Neubronner recently moved to Singapore and will be in charge of Gulf and South East Asia operations while airline's vice president (global sales) Suresh Makhija has quit the organisation.
The changes take place as Jet Airways tries to consolidate operations and achieve profitable growth.
Shanmugam, who is a Singapore national, will be in charge of product enhancement, guest services, passenger and cargo sales, marketing and corporate communications. He will also oversee other critical functions such as airport and in-flight services, catering, revenue management, cabin crew and e-commerce, the airline said in a statement today.
This is Shanmugam's second stint in the airline. He rejoined Jet Airways last April from Qatar Airways where he looked after the airline's Doha airport operations.
