Private air carrier Jet Airways today posted a net loss of Rs 101 crore for the third quarter ended December, 2011 on higher fuel prices and weak rupee during the quarter.
The company's loss was down 86% quarter-on-quarter from a net loss of Rs 300 crore in the September quarter.
However, it had posted a net profit of Rs 118 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Sales saw a growth of 18% to Rs 3,696 crore year-on-year on improved passenger load factors.
Total income increased to Rs 4,166 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 3,514 crore for the same quarter last year.
At day's close the shares of the company ended down 4.49% at Rs 231.65 per share on the positive BSE index --Sensex -- that ended at 16,739, up 95 points from previous day's close.
