Jet makes sparkling debut

Jet Airways shares made a sparkling debut on listing today. The stock gained as much as 17% in early morning deals to the offer price of Rs 1,100 per share.

The IPO had raised Rs 1,900 crore for the company by way of issuing 1.72 crore shares.

Naresh Goyal, chairman and chief executive of Jet Airways, while speaking after the listing ceremony, said: "The growth of the tourism industry, steps taken by the government to deregulate the industry, and the opening up of international routes will provide opportunities. We are confident of  maintaining healthy profitability."
