Jindal Power today said it will invest Rs 13,400 crore for enhancing its power generation capacity to 3,400 Mw by 2013.
The company plans to raise the capacity of its 1,000 Mw coal-based thermal power plant in Chattisgarh to 3,400 Mw in the next four years.
"Its a brown field expansion... We would add 2,400 Mw to our existing power plant in Chhattisgarh," Jindal Power Deputy Managing Director Sushil Maroo told reporters here.
The company has placed an order for a power equipment with BHEL.
