Jindal Steel & Power Q3 net dips 3.2% to Rs 874 cr

Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) today said its consolidated net profit declined by 3.20 per cent to Rs 874.35 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, compared to the same period corresponding fiscal.

Total income declined to Rs 2,687.10 crore for the latest quarter against Rs 2,948.57 crore for the same period previous fiscal, JSPL said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

For the nine month period ended December 31, 2009, the company posted a net profit of Rs 2,671.18 crore against Rs 2,109.24 crore last fiscal.

On a standalone basis, the company reported a net profit of Rs 325.62 crore for the quarter ended December 31, against Rs 325.17 crore for the same period a year ago.

 

Shares of JSPL today closed at Rs 652.25 on the BSE, up 0.94 per cent from its previous close.
