Jindal Education Initiatives, a philanthropic initiative of Jindal Steel and Power, today said it has signed an agreement with Montgomery College in the US and Wadhwani Foundation for imparting training to technical trade instructors.
"Given the complementary objectives and capabilities, the MoU proposes to collaborate on developing a state-of-the-art, world-class, advanced training programme for technical trade instructors, comprising curricula that are industry job-driven and progressive," JSPL Chairman and Managing Director Naveen Jindal said in a statement.
As per the agreement, Jindal Education Initiatives would be the implementing partner providing "hard infrastructure" like training facilities and staffing, while Montgomery College would provide technical expertise using a mutually agreed upon cost-recovery model.
The Wadhwani Foundation would be the capacity building partner augmenting "soft infrastructure" like curriculum and courseware development, faculty development and the enabling technology platform, the statement said.
"The collaboration will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a technical trade instructor training programme and related instructional materials with a view to scale-up nationally," it added.
The agreement aims to address India's increasing need for educated and skilled personnel. India Inc is often faced with a scarcity of skilled professionals.
