JK eyes Pacific for white cement

JK Cement, one of the largest producers of white cement in India is seeking new markets in Australia and New Zealand.
 
The company has registered a growth of 20 per cent in white exports this year, said A K Saraogi, president and CFO.
 
"We have exported 25,000 tonne white cement this year to Bangladesh, Middle East, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and African countries and are looking further," Saraogi said.
 
In domestic market, 50 per cent of white cement demand comes from industrial consumers and Gujarat leads in its consumption, he said.
 
While the company aims to increase its production of white cement from 0.3 mtpa to 0.4 mtpa by June, for grey cement it aims to raise from 3.55 MTPA to 4 MTPA, Saraogi maintained.
 
The company has its grey cement manufacturing units in Nimbahera and Mangrol in Rajasthan with production capacity of 2.8 MTPA and 0.75 MTPA respectively.
 
The company is planning to switch to 70 per cent Portland Pozzuluno Cement from the existing 30 per cent of overall cement production, he said.
 
"The demand for PPC is rising by each passing day," he maintained.
