John Deere India, one of the leading tractor manufacturer and provider of advanced crop solutions and irrigation systems, has launched two new tractor models in Gujarat, including the 35-hp tractor model 5036C and 41-hp tractor model 5041C.
Powered by three-cylinder John Deere diesel engines, the tractors are equipped with power steering, oil immersed disc brakes, side-shift gears, mobile-charging point, neutral start switch on drive gear and PTO for added safety, and other features.
With the launch of two new tractor models the company is also planning to expand its dealership network in the country, from existing 380 to 400 within a year. John Deere has constructed a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sanaswadi, Pune. With products in the 35 hp to 89 hp range, John Deere India has established leadership in the higher horsepower segment of the Indian market.
However, introduction of the two new models marks John Deere's entry into the lower horsepower market segment in the Indian tractor industry, which constitutes approximately 40 percent of the total tractor market, said Ravi Menon, director sales and marketing, John Deere India.
John Deere India exports tractors from India to 68 countries and has earned the best Export Performance Awards from EEPC for the past Six consecutive years. The company has also established a technology and engineering center in Pune that employs approximately 1,200 professionals to support the activities of John Deere worldwide in the areas of product design, engineering and information technology.
