The global agricultural and forestry equipments' major John Deere & Company has inaugurated its technology centre at the city's upcoming IT hub Magarpatta. |
The centre will provide services in information technology, engineering, supply management, embedded systems and technical authoring for the company's operations worldwide. |
The centre will extend John Deere's leadership in providing innovative products and services to the markets served by the company. |
Approximately 200 people are employed at the centre as of now. Once the centre becomes fully operational, this leased facility can accommodate over 800 people. The company expects to make the centre fully operational within three years. |
"Additional investments will be reviewed as per the requirements. We are confident that our investment in the technology centre will not only support John Deere's global growth strategy, but extend our capacity for information technology and engineering services in a productive manner," said Nate Jones, senior vice-president and chief financial officer, at the inaugural function. |
The Indian operations of the company includes John Deere Equipment Private, in Sanaswadi, near Pune. The facility manufactures transmissions and diesel engines and also builds the familiar green and yellow John Deere tractors for customers in the country and around the world. |
