JP Associates, Dighi Port to set up cement plant

Jaiprakash Associates on Monday said it has entered into an agreement with Dighi Port for setting up a 3 million tons per annum cement grinding plant, a coal-based captive power plant and a water desalination plant at Dighi Port in Kutchh, Gujarat.

Dighi Port has leased 40 acres of land for a period of 40 years and would provide its port facilities for incoming and outgoing bulk cargo, the company said.

Jaiprakash Associates expects capital investment of about Rs 600 crore on the project. The plant would be commissioned in 3 years, it said.
