JSPL, MTNL & Tata Chemicals Q2 result

JSPL Q2 net up 62%

Integrated domestic steel producer Jindal Steel and Power Ltd reported a 62.17 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 450 crore for the quarter ended September 30 against Rs 277.47 crore in the same period a year ago. The firm's total income rose by about 75.40 per cent to Rs 2,231.08 crore against Rs 1,271.94 crore it had reported in the corresponding period last year.

MTNL net dips 1.4%

Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd has reported a 1.4 per cent decline in net profit. Profit fell to Rs 91.86 crore for the quarter ended 30 September, 2008, from Rs 93.15 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

 

Tata Chemicals Q2 net jumps 34%

Strong growth in soda ash and fertiliser business has helped agro-chemical major Tata Chemicals register a 34 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 278 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, up from Rs 208 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s revenues for the quarter under review stood at Rs 4,661 crore, up 169 per cent as compared to Rs 1,733 crore of the corresponding quarter the previous year.
