JSW Steel today reported an 8% increase in crude steel production to 5.41 lakh tonne in February from 5.02 lakh tonne in the same month last year.
The Sajjan Jindal-led firm's flat rolled products' output went up by 48% to 4.42 lakh tonne during the month from three lakh tonne in the same month last year, it said in a statement.
However, long rolled products' production dipped to 0.75 lakh tonne from 0.96 lakh tonne in February 2010, recording a 22% decline.
In January this year, the company had recorded nine% rise in crude steel production to 5.8 lakh tonne from 5.33 lakh tonne a year ago.
