JSW crude steel production grows 66% in Jan

JSW Steel has today announced that their crude steel production increased 66 per cent to 5.33 lakh tons in the month of January 2010, compared to the corresponding month in the last fiscal year. Production of its flat rolled products grew 28 per cent and its long rolled products grew 266 per cent, the company said in a statement to the stock exchanges. These production details do not include the production from its trial run of expansion project.

JSW achieved 4.92 million tons of crude steel production cumulatively upto January 2010 in the current fiscal year, showing a growth of 60 per cent over corresponding period in the last year.

 

JSW Steel manufactures various products in the steel sector namely H R Coils, C R Coils, galvanized products, auto grade and white goods grade CRCA steel bars and rods. JSW has the largest  galvanizing and colour coating facilities in the country and is the largest exporter of galvanized products.

JSW Steel, which belongs to the JSW Group, part of the O P Jindal Group. The group has varied interest in coal, mining, power, industrial gases, port facilities and information technology.
